Roland Neveu has been living in SE Asia for over 20 years and certainly know his way around. He was one of the few reporters who witnessed the fall of Phnom Penh to the Khmer Rouge in April 1975. And then for two decades, he covered hot spots like Afghanistan (photographed the first Soviet POW in 1981), witness the siege of Beirut and war in Lebanon, El Salvador’s bloody feud, the NPA struggle in the Philippines and the fall of Ferdinand Marcos in 1986. He also photographed early the spreads of AIDS in Uganda (1986), (along with a TV piece).

In 1990, he covered the Touareg rebellion in Mali, in 91 the Kurdish refugees (Çucurça area) mainly as TV stories. From the mid 1980s, he also worked on film sets as a stills photographer with directors like Oliver Stone, Brian de Palma, Ridley Scott (Platoon, Thelma & Louise, Born on the 4th, Casualties of War, etc.). Then, in 2001 with Matt Dillon whose film, “City of Ghosts” was shot in Cambodia.

As for publications, Neveu’s book, “Cambodia theYears of Turmoil”, relates over 35 years of covering Cambodia. He published several other books on Laos and Cambodia. With probably having some of the best photo archives on Cambodia for the 70s-80s period Roland Neveu keep shooting pictures from his Bangkok base and publishing books on South East Asia with Asia Horizons Books. He is also taking some corporate photo shoots, artists portfolios and creative studio photography.
