Highlights of tour:
 

6-day tour into the tribe villages for your experience at Karen family. You will meet up its population and explore the wild life of elephants in an evergreen jungle where the site is fully protected.

Day 1: : Yangon – Pyay (B,L,D)

This morning, appointment with your guide and start to drive to Pyay (179 miles, 6 hrs.), located in North West of Yangon on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwady River. It is a transit city linking Lower and Upper Myanmar. On the way, we will visit “Tharyarwaddy”, “Paung De” and any others local villages. Many photo stops at your convenience. Before reaching to Pyay, visit the Shwe Nat Taung Pagoda, from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of surrounding countryside; and the Shwe Myet Hman Pagoda with its bespectacled Buddha image. Transfer to your hotel for check in. Stay overnight at Pyay.

Day 2: Pyay – Srikestra – Pyay (B,L,D)

After breakfast, explore Pyay’s main market located at the waterfront of the Ayeryarwaddy River. Afterwards head back to the other side of the town and discover Sri Ksetra, Thayekhittaya or Hmawza in Pyay’s Ancient City, an important archaeological and historical site near Pyay. Then you will visit the cemetery of Queen Beikthano, containing six funeral urns jutting slightly out of the soil. Continue your sightseeing at Pyay’s most attractive pagodas “Shwe San Daw” and “Se Htat Gyi Pagoda”. On the way back to the hotel, make a stop at Pyay’s busy night market. Overnight in Pyay.

Day 3: Pyay – « Karen » Village (B,L,D)

Start from Pyay around 9 am and drive to Karen village (3hr). Have lunch at Karen village and study old Karen tradition and their daily activities. Meet its population and learn how they have to struggle to survive in the jungle. Overnight at Karen village.

Day 4: Pyay – Elephant camp (B,L,D)

Have a walk around the village in the morning and drive to elephant camp around 10am (2hr). Have lunch at the elephant camp. Elephant riding through the jungle in the afternoon for about 1 hour before sunset and return to the camp for overnight.

Day 5: Elephant camp – Taungoo (B,L,D)

Get up early morning and follow the elephant master (OoZi) to chase his elephant, which was freed, into the jungle for the whole night and learn how elephants are working for the logging process. Have lunch and drive back to Taungoo (2hr) in the afternoon.Late afternoon, enjoy your sightseeing at some highlights in Taungoo such as Shwesandaw Pagoda, Kandawgyi Lake, Mya Sigon Pagoda and Kaung Hmu Daw Pagoda. Overnight at Hotel in Taungoo.

Day 6: Taungoo – Yangoon (B,L,D)

Breakfast at Hotel. Then transfer back to Yangon by overland drive, 290km with 5hrs driving time expected. When you will be arrived to Bago, you will visit the Shwethalyaung Pagoda whose Buddha image dates from 994 which is revered throughout Myanmar as the most beautiful Reclining Buddha. Not far from there visit a cheroot (Burmese cigars) factory. Also have a look at some of the woodcarving on display a short distance away. Then drive ahead to back to Yangon.
